1 - CREATION - CREATION - (LP)
KLIMT

LP with POSTER!! + innersleeve w/ English / Japanese liner notes. Originally released in 1975, this album was the culmination of Japanese ax-hero Kazuo Flash Takedas post-London musical efforts. Takeda spent the early 1960s soaking in the sounds of American blues, psych and British invasion rock bands, eventually forming his own band-the aptly named Blues Creation-in 1969. The band released three albums, including their now legendary Demon & Eleven Children, before Takeda took off for London in 1972. During this time he played on a number of sessions and made friends with many musicians, particularly the American hard rockers Mountain. When he finally returned to Japan the following year, he was ready to start a new band with himself on lead guitar and vocals. Now simply called Creation, the band released its self-titled LP in 1975, produced by the Flower Travellin Band producer Yuya Utchida and featuring a cover photo of a group of naked boys peeing. Creations next album would be recorded in the US with Felix Pappalardi. Takeda went on to release over 20 albums and now lives in L.A. as a session guitarist.

3 - CREATION - PURE ELECTRIC SOUL - (LP)
KLIMT

Gatefold LP with inside pocket. Led by Japanese guitar hero Kazuo Takeda, Creation was instrumental in opening the ears of Japanese audiences to the sounds pouring in from the West. After having spent some time around Londons music scene in 1971, Takeda took his experience home to start a band that incorporated these sounds into something that was at the same time uniquely Japanese. From 1975-1977 Creation released three albums (one of which was recorded in the USA with American producer Felix Pappalardi, whom Takeda had met in London). 1977s Pure Electric Soul was the bands final effort. An album of riff-heavy and funky blues rock, mostly penned by Takeda, with the exception of the blues standard "Frankie And Johnny" and the Yardbirds "Happenings 10 Years Time Ago". Once again the controversial cover artwork featured a group of nude boys.

6 - CREATION - THIS IS CREATION - (LP)
KLIMT

140 gram LP with printed inner sleeve. Led by Japanese guitar-hero Kazuo Takeda, Creation (initially called Blues Creation) was instrumental in opening up Japan to the new sounds pouring in from the West. After doing time (circa 1972) on the London music scene-where he befriended Mountains Felix Pappalardi-Takeda returned home to work on his own music. Over the next few years Takedas Creation became one of the hottest bands in Tokyo, releasing several successful LPs for EMI-Japan, including 1976s Creation with Felix Pappalardi recorded in the US, and this long out-of-print "direct-to-disc" album, recorded in October 1978. Takeda apparently got the idea of recording directly to disc while hanging out in the US, the idea being that it would create a more intimate sound (by eliminating the loss of sound quality inherent in any transfer to magnetic tape). However, it also meant that there could be no overdubs or multi-tracking-essentially making This Is Creation (featuring Katsutoshi Morizono of Prism on rhythm guitar) a live album.

7 - CREATION - WITH FELIX APPALARDI - (LP)
KLIMT

140 gram LP. Recorded in 1976 at Bearsville Studio in NYC, this album was the result of a collaboration between Japanese guitar hero Kazuo Takeda of Creation and American bassist Felix Pappalardi of Mountain. Pappalardi and Takeda first began hanging out in London in the early seventies, a friendship which soon led to Mountain touring Japan alongside Creation in 1975. This in turn led to Creation being invited to the US by Pappalardi to record their next album, 1976s Creation with Felix Pappalardi. This album is a collection of tunes written by Pappalardi, Pappalardis wife, Gail Collins, and Takeda, and finds Pappalardi playing bass, keyboards and vibraphone on the LP as well as handling production duties. The songs are a blend of melodic hard rock akin and would not seem out of place on a Mountain album.

TRACKLISTING: 01. Shes Got Me 02. Dreams I Dream Of You 03. Green Rocky Road 04. Preachers Daughters 05. Listen To The Music 06. Secret Power 07. Summer Days 08. Dark Eyed Lady Of The Night 09. Ballad Of A Sad Cafe
