1 - JUDGE DREAD - BEDTIME STORIES - (LP)
RADIATION

Taking his stage name from a classic Prince Buster song, Judge Dread (born Alexander Minto Hughes) was one of the most popular UK reggae artists of all-time. Known for his salacious humor and over the top live shows Dread was a favorite among UK rude boys. The year 1975 was a big one for Judge Dread, he released several highly charting singles, including his over-the-top rendition of Serge Gainsbourg's sultry classic 'Je T'Aime' and the naughty holiday classic 'Christmas In Dreadland.' The album 'Bedtime Stories', originally released late in 1975 reached the Top 30 of the UK charts. Featuring those singles and a host of other Dread classics, the album showcases Judge Dread's unique brand of braggadocio mixed with self-deprecating humor. Another UK reggae classic from Judge Dread reissued by Radiation.

2 - JUDGE DREAD - DREADMANIA (IT'S ALL IN THE MIND) - (LP)
RADIATION

Dreadmania (It's All In The Mind) is Judge Dread's (nee Alexander Hughes) very first album, originally released by Trojan Records in 1972, and is a confirmed Ska and Skinhead Reggae classic. The least likely of reggae stars, the white, Brixton raised Dread had previously served as a club bouncer (where he met Derrick Morgan and Prince Buster), wrestler, bodyguard, DJ, and debt collector for Trojan Records, before hitting it big in 1972 with "Big Six" - inspired by Prince Buster's classic "Big 5" - which reached number 11 on the UK chart and sold nearly a half a million copies. On the back of that hit, and its follow up "Big Seven", the label quickly assembled an album to cash in on their success, and its title, Dreadmania, aptly summed up the state of the nation, as Judge Dread fever gripped the island. Of course, the two hits were included within, as was "Oh She Is a Big Girl Now," which was subsequently spun off as a single, and "Dr. Kitch," which later reappeared as a B-side. Appropriately enough, the Chuck Berry hit "Ding a Ling" was covered, and just in case there were any remaining doubts about the album's contents, there's even a track titled "Donkey Dick." "It's all in the mind/It's all in the mind/The rudeness it's all in the mind," the Judge ruled on the opening track. Perhaps, but Dread could make even a nun blush. He was the king of the double entendre, his clever wordplay and wit a revelation for the staid British. But he also captured the imagination of Jamaicans. Dread wrapped his rude lyrics within perfect reggae backdrops, with many of his songs built around classic Jamaican rhythms, adding further authenticity to his sound.

TRACKLISTING: 01. All In The Mind 02. Big Six 03. Deception 04. Dr. Kitch 05. Oh! She Is A Big Girl Now 06. Mary Ann 07. Big Seven 08. Ding-a-ling 09. Donkey Dick 10. The Biggest Bean You've Ever Seen 11. The Blue Cross Code 12. Dread's Almanack

7 - JUDGE DREAD - WORKING CLASS 'ERO - (LP)
DAILY

Judge Dread (authentic name "Alex Hughes") was an artist that broke record after record building up an unparalleled musical career. The Guinness Book of World Records credited Judge Dread for having the highest number (eleven) of banned songs of all time, that granted him deservedly the nickname of "King Of Rudeness", also he was the first white recording artist to have a reggae hit in Jamaica. To top all that, Dread had 11 UK chart hits in the 1970s, which was more than any other reggae artist, including Bob Marley! 40 years ago, in 1974, Judge Dread released his second studio album, the outstanding "Working Class Ero" on Trojan records. At that time he was already hugely popular in the UK, several singles included in this album like "Big Eight", "Big Nine" and "Grandads Flanalette Nightshirt" registered very good sales in spite of having been banned by the BBC, but withot any shadow of doubt, the song that had a major repercussion was his politically incorrect cover of the hit by Serge Gainsbourgh and Jane Birkin titled "Je TAime (Moi Non Plus)" which, re-recorded, gave the Judge a Top ten smash in the summer in 1975. Judge Dread says in his song "Dreads Laws" that the three best things in life are; a drink before and a cigarrette after......maybe between these two activities you will find the time to listen to this authentic skinhead reggae classic reissued for the first time on vinyl!!!. This reissue includes a full-colour insert featuring sleevenotes by Mark Brennan! Limited to 500 copies.

TRACKLISTING: 01. Big Eight 02. Take Off Your Clothes 03. The Belle Of Snodland Town 04. The Big Five 05. Dreads Law 06. Big Nine 07. Je T'aime (moi Non Plus) 08. Grandads Flanalette Nightshirt 09. What Kung Fu Dat 10. The Big One
